The keratin treatment is a chemical hair straightener and originally comes from Brazil. The New York Times soon reported on the keratin treatment and it became a worldwide success. The only thing that always prevented me from doing a keratin treatment was the fear of not being able to do curls. In retrospect, this turned out to be a mistake. But more on that later. In addition, I wasn't sure whether my hair could be damaged by the treatment.
Important facts about keratin treatment:
- The keratin treatment permanently smooths the hair. The hair is built up with keratin and appears shiny and strengthened after the treatment.
- The time required varies depending on the length and density of hair. If you would like to know in advance how much the treatment will cost and how long it will take, it is best to stop by the salon to make an appointment.
- After treatment, hair must not be washed or tied for 48 hours.
- After the treatment, the hair smells a few washes of the incorporated product - a good hair perfume is therefore recommended.
How does a keratin treatment work?
Finally the time has come. I had my appointment at the Hera beauty, the Best hair salon Singapore.
- First, the hair is washed and cleaned to remove residue from other hair products. This already happens with the special keratin shampoo and is therefore the ideal preparation.
- In the second step, the keratin is massaged in and left in the hair for 20 minutes. Then it is rinsed out.
- 3. The third and last step takes the longest. The hair is blown dry first. The keratin is then incorporated with the straightening iron. Carefully and patiently straightened strand by strand 15 times.

The treatment is over after exactly three hours. I don't think my hair has ever been so smooth, soft and shiny. I would like to touch them all the time, which I shouldn't, since they should stay unwashed for 48 hours.
I also get the right products for at home in the salon, which are included in the treatment. Now I'm curious to see how my hair will look in the near future.

But what surprises me the most is how well my curls hold. I would even argue that it is now easier for me to conjure up curls because I can process more hair at once.

I would do the keratin treatment again in a heartbeat. I have a lot more time in the morning and still my hair looks great. They shine and fall softly.
